Coppiced Ash Wood
The Long Ash Thumbstick Hiking Stick is produced using the coppicing method, meaning that it's formed from the shoot that grows when the upper part of a young ash tree is removed. All of the sticks are grown in the woodland of the manufacturer in Somerset, England.
Ash wood is known for its interesting light to medium brown colour and coarse texture. In this case, the stick hasn't been polished, which further enhances the eye-catching rustic appearance of this thumbstick.
Traditional Thumbstick Handle
The natural V-shaped handle, one of the most classic British handles, goes great with the overall rustic style of this hiking stick. Not only visually appealing, with the thumb resting in the middle and the fingers clasped around the stick, this handle also provides great support and balance.
Combi Ferrule
This Hiking Stick features a combi ferrule, which means that there is a rubber ferrule fitted over a spiked one. This way, the staff can safely be used on both hard and soft surfaces, making it ideal for diverse hiking terrain.
Please note that due to the natural sourcing and manufacturing process, the height of the Long Ash Hiking Stick ranges from 122cm to 135cm (48" - 53"). Each stick is also naturally and uniquely shaped.
