About The Umbrellas

Although this print presents a whole crowd of people in one scene, what makes it extraordinary is that Pierre-Auguste Renoir executed it in two phases. First, he painted the group on the right, which includes a mother and a daughter, and then he completed it by painting the group on the left during a second stage.
