Country Walking Stick
This naturally grown blackthorn walking stick features a rustic design that is just perfect to use as an accessory with any country outfit. Its comfortable handle, light weight and strong shaft ensure this attractive cane is not only a fashion item, but a functional hiking stick as well.
Traditional Knobstick
The knobstick is one of the most traditional British walking sticks, usually made from coppiced ash, hazel or, as in this case, blackthorn. Coppicing is an interesting method of growing natural walking sticks that involves the tree being cut at ground level, and the resultant shoots form the raw material for walking sticks.
The ‘knob’ handle is formed from the parent tree, so that the walking stick is in effect grown upside down. The handle is polished for a smooth and comfortable fit.
Blackthorn Wood
Blackthorn is the traditional wood of Ireland and one of the most sought-after woods for making walking sticks. It is esteemed for its rich colour and the characterful appearance, caused by its spiny thorns.
Can I Replace the Ferrule?
Yes, if your rubber ferrule becomes worn, you can remove the fitted ferrule and replace it with a new one. As this is a natural product, we recommend measuring the end of your stick to determine which size is right for your stick. For information on how to measure your stick, we recommend reading our article on How to Measure Your Walking Stick for a Ferrule.
